Who We Are / Core Values

Principles that
guide our work.

Our values define how we conduct our research, how we present evidence, and how we remain accountable to the public we serve.

Our Core Values

Independent in principle.
Rigorous in practice.

SSIMOE is guided by five core values that shape every report, tracker, analysis, and partnership.

01

Independence

01

SSIMOE is not affiliated with any political party, government ministry, or donor agency. Every report, tracker, and analysis is produced on our own terms, free from outside influence on our findings.

02

Evidence

02

Every claim we publish is sourced, dated, and reproducible. We report what the data shows — not what would be convenient to say.

03

Transparency

03

Our methodology is open to scrutiny. When data is incomplete, contested, or unavailable, we say so rather than filling the gap with an assumption.

04

Accountability

04

We track how public resources are budgeted and spent because citizens have a right to know. Our work exists to make that information usable, not just available.

05

Collaboration

05

We don't work in isolation. SSIMOE partners with community organisations, researchers, and institutions because durable change is built together, not alone.

Our Standard

Principles are only meaningful
when they shape the work.

These principles are not simply statements of intent. They are the standards by which we approach our work.

SSIMOE

We’re on a mission to make South Sudan’s economy and government spending visible to the people it affects most – empowering citizens to engage with policy in a real, measurable way. Through data, tracking, and analysis – from the cost of living to how government spends on education, agriculture, infrastructure, and healthcare – we turn complex issues into clear answers, so together we can drive data-informed decisions that reflect the needs of the common man
