The South Sudan Institute for Monitoring, Oversight and Evaluation (SSIMOE) provides independent, evidence-based research on the cost of living and public spending in Agriculture and Education — equipping citizens and institutions with accurate information to shape policies that improve everyday life.

The Juba Consumer Basket
SSIMOE tracks monthly prices in Juba, covering food, transport, fuel and energy, and network and communication, alongside exchange rates. We monitor budget allocations against actual disbursements in Agriculture and Education, document the policies shaping South Sudan, and provide analysis of emerging policy issues. We aim to make important information accessible and useful, whether it is used by a citizen trying to understand changing prices, a journalist researching a public issue, a policymaker examining evidence, or a researcher studying South Sudan.
